2022 Toyota Yaris Cross Adventure

The small crossover Toyota Yaris Cross got a new "off-road" version.

The Japanese company unveiled its new Toyota Yaris Cross and it has already received a visual upgrade in the form of the Gazoo Racing treatment. There will not be a proper performance version, but the automaker has just introduced another addition to the lineup the Yaris Cross Adventure.

The Adventure suffix corresponds to the crossover new so called off road version of the Yaris Cross. This design has a number of visual differences from the regular crossover, including silver elements in the plastic linings on both bumpers, the presence of silver roof rails, as well as black 18-inch wheels. The new trim has been designed for life beyond urban streets, for time spent exploring and enjoying the great outdoors and open roads.

The Toyota decided to keep silent about the ground clearance, the figure remained the same 170mm. Obviously, such a version can be called off road with a very big stretch. The Adventure model is easily distinguishable by its rear bumper protection plate, and new front diffuser. Toyota has created a similar off road atmosphere in the interior by installing additional piano black elements, black headlining, leather steering wheel, gear lever cover, special seats, decorative silver or gold plastic inserts on the panel and doors.

The customization and appearance potential of the Yaris Cross Adventure. Toyota will also sell the limited Premiere Edition model. It will be available during the first 12 months of the vehicles production with a number of upgrades, including exclusive leather seat upholstering, dedicated 18 inch machined alloy wheels, electric boot lid with kick sensor, head up display and bi-color finish.

The subcompact crossover is based on the TNGA GA-B platform. The stuffing of the Adventure and Premiere Edition versions is the same as that of the basic five door. The Yaris Cross Adventure will be available with an All Wheel Drive hybrid setup, consisting of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. With 116 horsepower on tap, it is surely not the most exciting vehicle to drive, but Toyota promises this output is more than enough for the small crossover.

Toyota will begin accepting pre orders for the new Yaris Cross in all its versions from the early weeks of the second half of 2021 and actual sales are due to start in September.
