A fully remodeled version of the new Subaru Outback.
The New Subaru Outback, a fully remodeled version of Subaru, has already been announced in the North American and Australian markets, but it has finally become clear that it has also arrived in the European market. However, it is not yet clear whether it will be released for the European market, and it is not decided when it will be announced. It is a powerful model equipped with SGP platform and is said to be an expected off road crossover with a tight headlight and body style like the new Levorg.
The design is almost the same as the design already announced for the North American market and the Australian market and the two flat bars that are the horizontal tone of the front grill are unique and the overall design is conscious of the horizontal tone. The body also looks wide.
The powertrain in the US-spec Outback is offered with an optional turbocharged 2.4-liter gasoline engine pumping out 260 horsepower, its European cousin is stuck with the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine rated at 180 horsepower. Subaru says the horizontally opposed boxer engine is 90 percent new compared to what the previous model had and benefits from a higher compression ratio.
Regarding the transmission, it is highly likely that an improved CVT that imitates the gear ratio of the 8-speed automatic transmission will be installed, and horsepower loss due to the adoption of a hydraulic system and low oil viscosity. It is expected to appear as an off road model that is powerful yet fuel efficient by equipping it with a four wheel drive system equipped with torque vectoring as standard equipment.
The navigation display will be equipped with a 11.6-inch tablet type like the new Outback and the new Levorg for the North American market, but it seems likely that the display size will differ depending on the grade and options. It is a little hard to see, but it also has a rear seat ventilation and USB port.
While Europe is about to welcome the sixth-generation Outback, North America will soon see an expansion of the lineup with a more capable Wilderness version. It debuts with chunky tires, beefier styling, and quite possibly more ground clearance by jacking up the suspension furthermore.
It is unclear at this point whether there are plans to bring the Outback Wilderness to Europe.
