2021 SAIC Maxus T90 Aggressive Looking Pickup Truck

The SAIC group in China has just unleashed the flagship Maxus T90 pickup.

SAIC is the Chinese company that has a joint arrangement with General Motors. Maxus launched aggressive looking pickup truck T60. Powered by a 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine, the T60 combines brutish looks with high-tech amenities available across the range.

For a new truck to get noticed it has to be aggressive looking and the Maxus T90 pickup does catch eyeballs. Whether it is the angry front or light bar like rear taillight it does stand out. The T60 more rugged appearance, the T90 features a snazzy design dominated by a large chrome front grille, aggressive headlights, and muscular fender guards that house stylish 18 inch alloy wheels.

The interior, has a crossover like design. It has a digital instrument panel, a massive touchscreen infotainment system and a restyled gear selector on the center console. The two-tone leather upholstery is also available that further gives the T90 a more sophisticated look and feel. The piano black trim, leather wrapped steering wheel, as well as faux metal accents complete the T90 more upscale appearance.

Under the hood, Since it is mainly for China both engines are four cylinder power plants. A 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 218 horsepower and a 2.0-liter ICE engine are the two choices. They are hooked to either a 5-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive will be available.

On the horizon will be both a hybrid or electric powered Maxus. It will probably share the electric power system from the Euniq 6 which has 174 horsepower and 229 pound-foot of torque.

We will know the specs when it is unveiled in April.
