The Toyota future all electric crossover bZ4X production model. The zero emission SUV is planned for a release in the next years. The bZ4X has roughly the size of the RAV4 and is based on the automakers e-TNGA platform dedicated to electric vehicles.

Toyota bZ4X to be equipped with an optional steer by wire system with no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and tires. The automaker promises it will deliver an improved steering feeling and reduced vibrations to the steering wheel.

They use a water cooled 71.4 kilowatt hour battery a first for Toyota. In the base model, it provides a range of up to 450 kilometers measured by the WLTP cycle, which means you should expect lower figures over the EPA testing regime. Toyota claims the battery will not lose more than 10 percent of its performance in 10 years of driving or 240 thousand kilometer, whichever comes first.

At launch, the technology will be available in selected markets, and examples equipped with it will have a yoke like control instead of a traditional steering wheel.
