2022 Toyota Tundra

The 2022 Toyota Tundra: Rugged Good Looks, More Capable Than Ever, Modern Muscle, Full-Size Truck.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra pickup wears sharp new styling that makes look more conventional and muscular than before. A longer dash to axle ratio and squarer roofline remove some of the stubbiness of the old truck. A massive front grille that is visually linked to the ground via a C-shaped radiator shell with a blackout panel on the bumper giving the truck a gaping maw of a mouth. Which gets a chrome bumper beam to break up the sea of black up front.

The standard twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 makes 389 horsepower and 649 newton-meters of torque. The i-Force Max hybrid engine produces 437 horsepower and 790 Newton-meters of torque. Both get a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota says the base 3.5-liter V6 can tow up to 12,000 pounds. The heavier hybrid engine will not be able to tow quite as much, with company officials estimating it might be capable of about 200 pounds less than a comparable vehicle with the non-hybrid engine.

The Tundra TRD Pro off-road special gets unique Fox internal bypass dampers, TRD-tuned springs, and a 1.1-inch higher ride height up front. It also has skid plates, a unique front stabilizer bar, and some cool styling changes like an LED light bar in the grille. Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select will appear on the Tundra for the first time.

An 8.0-inch infotainment screen is standard on the Tundra, while a 14.0-inch screen is optional. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is available on some models. Over-the-air updates will also be available on all models. Every 2022 Toyota Tundra gets standard automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams.
