The New Generation Honda Civic TYPE R.
Recently, the new generation Civic Hatchback was debuted, fastback hatchback style to the very sporty new car. It is worth noting that we have learned from the official that Honda will also release in 2022 the e HEV hybrid version and the Type R performance version based on the Civic Hatchback.
Although it seems that there are two sets of power systems for two models they may actually be hybrid systems. According to overseas sources the new Type R model may adopt a hybrid system similar to the Honda NSX powertrain. For reference, the Honda NSX is equipped with a 3.5-liter twin turbocharged six-cylinder engine and matched with three electric motors to achieve four wheel drive. Then the new Type R may reduce the number of electric motors and match a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine to achieve higher power. But what is certain is that the new Type R models will still only provide manual gearboxes.
