The 2022 Toyota Aqua Hybrid-Only Hatchback As Japan’s Prius C.
The Toyota Aqua is a full hybrid electric subcompact or supermini hatchback B-segment manufactured and marketed by Toyota since 2011. The nameplate is exclusive to the Japanese domestic market as the vehicle was exported to overseas markets as the Prius c, leveraging the popularity of the Prius hybrid car nameplate and was marketed as the smaller alternative to the Prius liftback.
The 2022 Toyota Aqua second generation as an all new development by switching to the TNGA B-platform to improve fuel efficiency by 20 percent compared to the model it replaces. It offers one pedal operation and even comes in an all wheel drive version on the more expensive trim levels equipped with the E-Four system.
The all new Aqua is also available as part of the Welcab series offered in Wheelchair Storage Device, Front Passenger Turn Tilt, and Friendmatic Seat models.
