The Aspark Owl hypercar is the first of what the Japanese EV maker promises will be a lineup of high dollar hypercars. What it claims is a unique torque vectoring system.

The company says the car will hit 96 kilometers per hour in just 1.72 seconds with a top speed of 450 kilometer per hour. A sprint to 300 kilometer per hour takes a claimed 10.6 seconds. Aspark uses a 64 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that is said to offer a range of 450 kilometer. The four electric motors produce a combined 1,985 horsepower and 2,000 Newton-meters of torque.

The Aspark Owl is a shapely vehicle with dramatic curves and sharp creases. It also sits low to the ground at the height of just 38.97 inches. Aspark used carbon fiber reinforced plastic to help keep the weight down and increase body rigidity. Underneath the stylish body is a carbon fiber monocoque. Hydraulic dampers help give it put o 6.299 inches of ground clearance.

Production will be limited to 50 units worldwide.

2022 Volvo C40 Recharge



The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge is essentially the sportback version vehicle.





The Volvo C40 Recharge is essentially the sportback version of that vehicle and unlike the XC40 it is only offered as an EV.

The powertrain it gets the same dual motor All Wheel Drive setup as the XC40 Recharge offering a combined output of 402 horsepower and 660 Newton meters of torque. The performance is identical needing 4.7 seconds for the 0-100 kilometer per hour run before topping out at 180 kilometer per hour. The Volvo installs an electronic top speed limiter on all of its new cars and it kicks in at this velocity regardless of the powertrains full capabilities.

The 78 kilowatt hour battery pack with a usable 75 kilowatt hour capacity is rated at an estimated 338 kilometers of range per EPA and 420 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. The XC40 Recharge was certified by EPA at a slightly lower 335 kilometers but the electric crossover got an over the air update promising to bring more range and faster charging.

Volkswagen introduced the ID.4 last fall and now it’s giving the electric SUV a performance version to inaugurate the GTX badge reserved for fast EVs. The VW ID.4 GTX uses an automatically adjustable AWD system as the electric SUV remains in a rear-wheel-drive configuration until the onboard sensors detect more traction is needed.

The ID.4 GTX sits on standard 20-inch wheels upgradable to an optional 21-inch set with 358-mm brakes at the front axle.The optional Sports package lowers the electric SUV by 15 millimeters (0.6 inches) and adds progressive steering into the mix for spirited driving. Adaptive shock absorbers also cost extra as part of the Sports Plus package to balance sportiness and comfort. The driver gets to choose from Eco, Comfort, Sport, Individual, and Traction modes.

VW has made efforts to separate the GTX derivative from its mainstream counterpart. Three-point LED lights arranged vertically in the faux air intakes are exclusive to the performance model, and so is the glossy black finish of the grille. LED matrix headlights come as standard, along with fancy LED taillights featuring a 3D effect.

The ID.4 GTX finished in a new Metallic Kings Red paint while the red accents on the inside send a strong GTI vibe. As it makes sense on a range-topping version, it comes nicely equipped with a heated steering wheel, 30-color LED ambient lighting, individually adjustable front armrests, and split-folding rear seats. There are numerous optional packages available, adding goodies such as a head-up display with augmented reality and the upgraded 12-inch infotainment replacing the standard 10-inch screen.
